Terms of Service

Last updated: March 18, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an Echoes account, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't use our service. We're here when you're ready.

2. Our Service

Echoes lets you create digital letters, voice notes, and time capsules to be delivered to loved ones at a future date. You choose the recipient, the delivery date, and the contents. We simply keep your words safe until it's time.

3. Account Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate information when creating your account
  • Keep your login credentials secure
  • Be 13 years or older to use Echoes
  • Not use the service for unlawful purposes

4. Your Content

You own what you create. When you submit content to Echoes, you retain ownership but grant us permission to store and deliver it as you've requested. You're responsible for ensuring you have the right to share what you send.

5. Scheduled Deliveries

We commit to delivering your echoes on the date you specify. In the unlikely event of a technical failure, we'll notify you promptly and work to resolve the issue. If a recipient's contact information becomes invalid, we'll attempt to notify you.

6. Payments & Subscriptions

Some features require payment. All transactions are processed through Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled. You can cancel anytime through your account settings. Refunds are handled case-by-case — just reach out.

7. Prohibited Uses

You may not use Echoes to:

  • Send spam, harassment, or threats
  • Distribute malware or malicious content
  • Impersonate someone else
  • Violate any laws or regulations

8. Disclaimers

Echoes is provided "as is." While we work hard to keep your words safe, we can't guarantee 100% uptime or absolute security. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure. Use the service with the understanding that we're human too.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Echoes won't be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

10. Termination

You can delete your account anytime. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with reasonable notice when possible.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms occasionally. If we make material changes, we'll notify you via email at least 30 days before they take effect. Your continued use means you accept the new terms.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict of law principles.
